Low Cost Porta Cabin — Where the Price Comes From and What You Trade
A low cost porta cabin from SAMAN is not a structurally weaker product — it is a specification decision. Understanding which choices reduce the price — and which are never reduced regardless of budget — is the only way to know whether the lowest available price delivers what your deployment actually needs.
What Makes a Porta Cabin Low Cost — The Three Specification Tiers
The hub page lists Rs 1,050 to Rs 2,500 per sq ft as SAMAN’s price range. What it does not show is the specification behind each point on that range. This table does.
| Tier | Specification | Price Range | Right For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Entry — no insulation | IS 2062 frame, 18-gauge corrugated MS panels, no wall infill, cement board floor | Rs 1,050–1,150/sq ft | Covered storage, short deployment, non-occupancy |
| Basic — glasswool infill | Same IS 2062 frame + glasswool between panels, cement board floor | Rs 1,150–1,400/sq ft | Standard site office, moderate climate, part-shift occupancy |
| Standard — 50mm PUF | Same IS 2062 frame + 50mm PUF sandwich panel, vinyl floor option | Rs 1,400–1,800/sq ft | AC-dependent full-shift occupancy, extended deployment |

Three SAMAN porta cabins showing the three specification tiers — entry (no insulation, Rs 1,050–1,150/sq ft), basic (glasswool, Rs 1,150–1,400/sq ft), and standard (50mm PUF, Rs 1,400–1,800/sq ft). The IS 2062 Grade A structural frame is identical on all three. Only the wall infill, floor finish, and fitout change across the tiers.
One fact holds across every tier: the IS 2062 Grade A structural frame is never reduced. The frame — the skeleton that gives every SAMAN porta cabin its 20+ year structural lifespan — is the same at Rs 1,050/sq ft as it is at Rs 2,500/sq ft. What changes across the tiers is the wall infill, floor finish, and fitout completeness. The structure is the same. Only the finishes change.

What Is Included at SAMAN’s Entry-Level — The Confirmed Package
A 10×10 ft SAMAN porta cabin at the entry-level (no insulation) tier includes the following before dispatch from our Bangalore or Greater Noida facility:
IS 2062 Grade A base frame with four levelling feet. 18-gauge corrugated MS steel wall panels on all four faces — no insulation infill between the inner and outer panel. 18mm cement board floor. One lockable steel entry door with key. Two aluminium sliding windows with mosquito mesh. One LED tube light ceiling fitting. One 4-point electrical distribution board with 15A incoming provision.
What is NOT included at this tier: wall insulation (glasswool or PUF infill), AC mounting bracket and pre-wired conduit, additional windows beyond the standard 2, vinyl floor finish upgrade. Each of these is an add-at-quote-stage upgrade. Glasswool infill adds approximately Rs 8,000 to Rs 12,000 for a 10×10 ft cabin. PUF sandwich panel upgrade adds Rs 18,000 to Rs 28,000. AC bracket and conduit adds Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,500. Vinyl floor finish adds Rs 3,500 to Rs 6,000.
The entry-level package is a fully functional, factory-built cabin. It is complete for the deployments it is designed for.

Interior of a SAMAN entry-level porta cabin — 18-gauge corrugated MS walls without insulation infill, cement board floor, one LED tube light, one 4-point distribution board, two aluminium sliding windows. What is absent at this tier: AC bracket, insulation, vinyl floor. The IS 2062 structural frame is identical to every higher-specification SAMAN cabin.
When Entry-Level Is Adequate — and When It Is Not
Entry-level specification (no insulation) is adequate for three specific deployment types.
A porta cabin deployed under an existing covered structure — a factory shed, a warehouse, or a godown — where the surrounding building provides the thermal envelope. A temporary deployment of 3 to 6 months where the cabin serves as a storage room, an infrequent-access unit, or a short-duration site storeroom. A site in a moderate climate zone — average temperatures between 18°C and 35°C — where the cabin is occupied for part of a shift only and not used as a full-time workspace.
Entry-level specification is NOT adequate for two specific situations. First: full-shift or 24-hour occupancy in Indian summer conditions above 40°C. Without insulation, a metal cabin in direct sun can reach interior temperatures of 50°C or above — uninhabitable without AC, and AC cannot overcome that load without insulation. Second: a coastal or high-monsoon location where an uninsulated metal cavity wall accumulates condensation internally, causing rust on the inner face of the MS panels within 2 to 3 years of deployment.
If your deployment falls into either of these two situations, the basic glasswool tier is the minimum adequate specification. If AC is a day-one requirement, the 50mm PUF tier is the correct choice. For buyers whose deployment requires the full premium specification — false ceiling, vinyl flooring, and factory-fitted AC — our luxury porta cabin page covers the complete upper-tier specification.

Entry-level spec porta cabin — adequate inside a covered factory (left, 28°C interior) and inadequate in direct Indian summer sun (right, 49°C exterior). Without insulation, a metal cabin in direct sun reaches uninhabitable temperatures. Entry-level is correct for covered structures, short deployments, and moderate climates — not for 24hr occupancy in summer above 40°C.
Low-Cost SAMAN MS Cabin vs Cheap FRP Cabin — 10-Year Cost
The most common comparison a cost-sensitive buyer makes is not between SAMAN price tiers — it is between SAMAN’s entry-level MS cabin and an FRP competitor’s Rs 25,000 to Rs 49,000 cabin.
A SAMAN entry-level IS 2062 MS 10×10 ft porta cabin: Rs 75,000 to Rs 90,000. A competitor FRP 10×10 ft cabin: Rs 25,000 to Rs 49,000. The immediate saving: Rs 30,000 to Rs 65,000 in the FRP buyer’s favour.
At a permanently deployed site, an FRP cabin at standard 4mm wall thickness begins UV degradation in year 3. Panel cracking from mechanical contact and thermal cycling is visible in years 4 to 5. Full structural replacement is typically required by year 7 — at the original Rs 25,000 to Rs 49,000 again. Total cost of the FRP route over 7 years: Rs 50,000 to Rs 98,000 and one full replacement exercise.
The SAMAN IS 2062 MS cabin purchased once at Rs 75,000 to Rs 90,000 is structurally sound at year 20 with standard surface treatment and repainting every 2 to 3 years. It does not need to be replaced. From year 4 onwards, the SAMAN entry-level MS cabin has a lower total cost of ownership than the cheapest FRP alternative. The entry-level price is the low-cost option — just not in the year of purchase.

Year 7 comparison — SAMAN IS 2062 MS entry-level cabin (left, Rs 82,000 once, still in service) vs FRP competitor cabin (right, Rs 76,000 already spent, second replacement in progress). The SAMAN entry-level price is higher in year one. From year 4, it costs less. By year 10, the FRP buyer has spent more and is still replacing.
What to Specify When You Want the Lowest Price
Three points to confirm when calling SAMAN for the lowest available price on a porta cabin.
State explicitly that no insulation is required. If not specified, SAMAN’s default dispatch includes basic glasswool infill — which adds Rs 8,000 to Rs 12,000 to the cabin price. Confirming no insulation at the quote stage locks in the entry-level tier.
Confirm cement board floor is acceptable. If a vinyl floor finish is not mentioned, cement board is standard at entry-level. If your workflow requires a smoother floor surface, the vinyl upgrade is Rs 3,500 to Rs 6,000 — confirm this at the quote stage.
Confirm 2 windows and 4-point board as standard fitout. Each additional window adds Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,500. An AC bracket and conduit adds Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,500. A 6-point board upgrade adds Rs 1,500. If none of these are needed, confirming standard 2-window, 4-point fitout at the quote stage gives the lowest available price.

A site procurement officer confirms the three specification points for SAMAN’s entry-level price — no insulation, cement board floor, 2-window 4-point standard fitout. Ticking these at quote stage locks in the lowest available price. The delivered entry-level cabin in the background: functional, structurally sound, IS 2062 Grade A frame — in service on day one.
Standard configurations dispatch in 7 to 21 working days from our Bangalore and Greater Noida facilities.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the IS 2062 structural frame really identical at the lowest price as at the highest price — or is a lower grade used at entry-level? Yes — the IS 2062 Grade A mild steel structural frame is identical across all SAMAN price tiers. The base frame, corner posts, and roof frame use the same IS 2062 Grade A steel at entry-level as at premium specification. What changes at entry-level is the wall panel infill (no insulation vs glasswool vs PUF), the floor finish (cement board vs vinyl), and the fitout completeness. The skeleton is the same at every price point.
Can insulation be added to an entry-level porta cabin after it has been delivered — as a retrofit? Yes, with a qualification. Glasswool infill can be added as a field retrofit by cutting into the wall panel face, packing glasswool between the inner and outer MS faces, and welding a closure strip — approximately Rs 12,000 to Rs 18,000 for a 10×10 ft cabin by a local fabricator. A PUF sandwich panel retrofit is not practical in the field — it requires full panel replacement with pre-manufactured PUF panels. If PUF insulation may be needed later, confirming PUF panels at the original order stage is significantly more economical than retrofitting.
What is the minimum price for a 10×10 ft porta cabin from SAMAN and exactly what does it include? A standard SAMAN 10×10 ft porta cabin at entry-level no-insulation specification starts from Rs 75,000 to Rs 90,000 depending on delivery location from our Bangalore or Greater Noida facility. It includes IS 2062 Grade A base frame with levelling feet, 18-gauge corrugated MS wall panels without insulation infill, 18mm cement board floor, one lockable steel entry door with key, two aluminium sliding windows with mosquito mesh, one LED tube light, and one 4-point distribution board. AC bracket, additional windows, and insulation are not included at this price.
