Construction Site Office — ISO Container Units for Active Project Sites
Your construction project starts next month. Your engineers need a working office at the site, and permanent construction is not an option. A construction site office from SAMAN is an ISO-grade Corten steel container — crane-placed, electrical-fitted, and ready to use within 1 to 2 days of delivery. Built for project sites. Not a cabin.

Sizing for Your Site Team — Which Unit Handles Your Project
A 20-ft unit gives you 5,500mm × 2,200mm of usable floor space. That fits 4 to 6 engineers at desks with room for a drawing review table in the centre. It loads on a flat-bed truck and cranes into position in under 2 hours.
A 40-ft unit gives you 11,800mm × 2,200mm. Use it for 8 to 12 people — or split the floor between a working area and a dedicated site meeting zone. Useful when your project has a project manager, a site engineer team, and a records section all working from the same base.

A SAMAN 40-ft construction site office serving a multi-function engineering team at an urban infrastructure project — project manager, site engineers, and records team operating from a single unit inside a green site compound.
If you need separate rooms within the unit — a partition wall between a manager’s desk and an open plan area — that is a factory decision, not a site decision. Our prefabricated container office page covers what your team must confirm before fabrication starts.
Ground Preparation — Foundation for an Undeveloped Site
You do not need a concrete slab. Four levelling pads on compacted ground are sufficient for a single unit.
Here is what to confirm before the container arrives:
Ground must be compacted. Loose soil, wet ground after monsoon, or recently filled earth will not hold the pad positions. A vibro-compacted gravel base of 150–200mm at each of the four pad positions is standard preparation for a highway, dam, or power project site.
The crane needs a clear swing radius of at least 8 metres around the placement position. The delivery truck needs access within 20 metres of the final position.
If your site has no crane arranged, tell us. We can coordinate crane availability if you provide the site location and access conditions at the order stage.

Electrical Fitout for Site Conditions — Running on a Generator
Every unit ships with standard electrical fitout: MCB panel, 240V single-phase wiring, LED lighting, and power sockets. This configuration is set up for grid supply.
Construction sites run on diesel generator sets. If your site uses a DG, two additions must be confirmed at the order stage before fabrication:
A generator input socket — weatherproof, typically 32A single-phase or 63A three-phase depending on your AC load. This connects the DG supply cleanly to the MCB panel.
An earth rod provision point. Earthing on a remote site without grid connection requires its own arrangement. We factory-fit the conduit and provision bracket; you install the earth rod on site.
Both are factory modifications. They cannot be added after the unit ships. Specify them when you place the order.

Relocating the Office as Your Project Progresses
Long infrastructure projects move. A highway project may need the site office shifted 25 to 30 km as construction advances past the current base camp. Here is what that requires:
One crane and one transport truck. The container lifts off the levelling pads, loads onto the truck, travels to the new position, and cranes back down. The MCB panel disconnects and reconnects cleanly — no rewiring. At each end, the process takes 4 to 6 hours.
ISO Corten steel handles multiple relocations without structural damage. Most 18 to 24 month projects move their site office once or twice across the project duration. At project close, the unit transports to your next project or can be resold.

SAMAN 40-ft construction site office deployed at a high-altitude hydropower project site in Himachal Pradesh — crane-placed on compacted scree beside a glacial river, running on a diesel generator, serving the engineering team at one of India’s most remote active construction sites.
For full specifications on the ISO container format we supply across all project types, see our container office page.
If your site team is 4 people or fewer on a project under 12 months, a lighter and faster option may serve you better. Our porta cabin site office is quicker to deploy and lower cost for shorter projects.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size construction site office suits a team of 10 engineers?
A 40-ft unit suits 10 engineers — it gives 11,800mm × 2,200mm of usable floor and can hold separate desk zones and a central drawing review area. If the 10 engineers work across two shifts, a 20-ft unit may be adequate.
What ground preparation is needed before the container is placed?
A vibro-compacted gravel base of 150–200mm at the four levelling pad positions is sufficient on an undeveloped project site. You do not need a concrete slab for a ground-level single unit. Loose or recently filled soil needs compaction before delivery.
Can the construction site office run on a diesel generator without grid supply?
Yes, with a generator input socket and earth rod provision factory-fitted at the order stage. The standard electrical fitout is grid-ready. The DG additions must be specified before fabrication — they cannot be added after the unit is delivered.
How long does it take to relocate the office when the project phase moves?
Relocation takes 4 to 6 hours at each end — crane-off the pads, transport by flat-bed, crane-on at the new position. The MCB panel disconnects cleanly with no rewiring. Most 18 to 24 month projects complete one or two relocations.
